imageStars of the all-time favorite back-to-school movie Grease, including Jeff Conaway (Kenickie), Barry Pearl (Doody), Jamie Donnelly (Jan) and Annette Cardona (Cha Cha), will be together again during a special guest appearance at Universal CityWalk as the final credits roll on CirtyWalk’s final “Big, FREE, Outdoor Movie Night” Thursday, August 28 at 7:30 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to interact with “Kenickie,” “Doody,“ “Jan,” and “Cha Cha” as the stars answer questions and learn where life has taken them since graduation from Rydell High in advance of the movie screening which begins at 8:00 p.m. on the giant, iconic outdoor CityWalk screen. West Toluca Lake’s 27th Annual Block Party


imageApproximately 150 neighbors and friends gathered for a barbecue and games put on by the West Toluca Lake Residents Association. Fire Company #86 brought a fire engine for the kids to see and LAPD’s Senior Lead Officer Rob Benevidez answered questions. Gretchen and Roger Shreck, Jeff and Tracy Johnson, Emily and Jim Lechner and Mark and Janet Madrigal combined efforts to make the event a success.Neighbor Ed Roane was head chef, cooking hundreds of pounds of barbecue assisted by his son Zac, and neighbor Shelby Bond performed his one-man “Cowboy Max” show for all to enjoy. Another West Toluca Lake neighbor, Dave Chuchian and his band entertained throughout the evening. Association president, Harry Flynn, acted as MC.  [full story]

New SUV with Fuel-Saving Technology


imageHonda’s redesigned 2009 Pilot SUV is fairly large inside and out, with three rows of seats able to hold up to eight people. It also has an optional all wheel drive system, and just about every luxury amenity available these days. It also runs on only three cylinders in order to save fuel. Yes, three cylinders can move this husky 4500-pound family vehicle down the road just fine. Okay, there are actually six cylinders under the Pilot’s hood, but thanks to some interesting technology, two or three of them can shut off when not needed.
